The First Loss... like so many prom night virginities

Tim is my hero
Monday, May 2, 2011

I base that subject line on Tim's incredibly prudent, respectful and slightly self deprecating/aware facebook status.

So anyways.

Happy Monday everyone!

I am geared up to sit at work all day, watch the sun go away and send out another email later this afternoon telling you we have been cancelled again, but the Kickball League of Rochester is really sorry.

I don't know what we're doing anymore, but in the event that we do have a game I know we're down a gal or two and we might be down a couple of fellas. So if you have friends who don't have many other friends and spend a lot of time on barstools or on their college fouton (they kept for sentimental reasons) waiting and watching for their phone to ring who might want to play kickball tonight, have them on the ready.

Anyways. I miss most of your faces. It has been too long. A lot is going on in the world and I will use this platform to speak about my own agenda.

Brian is going to China on Thursday and I think that is awesome.

Thank you for your time. I will now step off of my soap box.

Rochester!

A Sad Day in Mudville
Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Yes my friends, many of you may have heard, because most of you weren't there, but last night I'm Kick James suffered their first defeat. Not for lack of effort, we simply could not pull off the W.

Final Score Drunken Otters 4, I'm Kick James 2

No MVP will be selected, but a great deal of honorable mentions need to be mentioned. Through small drops of rain and endless puddles of mud, our first award goes to Heidi Regan for her delicate shriek filled tip toed steps Heidi made the long walk through the field just to get to the game. As soon as the Dainty Dipper arrived, fresh from his trip to the Big City, a fire was lit underneath young Regan as she marked up her first official hit of the season.

Brian, once again, taught the other team what it meant to shotgun a beer. And may or may not have taught of couple of them how to be a man, they were pretty chummy at the end of the game.

Jesse didn't try to kill anyone, which was good.

Casey stayed on her feet, so that was also good.

Dave made his kickball debut to roaring cheers from the crowd... well from me, because we were down another guy since I managed to hurt my back by standing and walking. I am sorry this message is late, I have been a gimp all day long. Joey Lawrence Whoa is me.

Aaaaaanywho.

Thanks to Renee's friend Kristin for helping out. Thanks for everyone who came out to play and we'll see you next time.
