Monday, April 11th, an Icing, and going 1-0

Monday, April 11th

Good morning Kick James Britches!

I can only assume you all woke up with the same if not similar raging happy thoughts for our kickball game tonight. If you haven't noticed, I'm making this email work friendly by changing some words around. So don't worry Mr. Johnson (I assume all your bosses are named Mr. Johnson), you'll have nothing to worry about from these upstanding citizens or their email accounts.

Problem solved, that portly flicker won't suspect a thing!

So on to kickball talk!

We are at 6:15 tonight on Genesee Valley Park Main Field 7. It is a dirt field, so with the impending rain, we might get a little muddy. Which will be awesome. You can find a map to the field at the rockickball.net website http://www.rockickball.net/index.cfm?

I am hoping even if it is raining that we will power through. Remember to carpool if possible. Feel free to reply all to this email to set up rides. I also just enjoy reply all email relationships. They are fun.

I am hoping to get to the field a little early (possibly by 5:30) for anyone who wants to just kick around and practice. I will be bringing a twelve pack of soda. The soda will taste like hops and barley.

This is going to be awesome.

Marshall Street afterwards for celebratory or lamenting drinkies. We'll all get fulled up and have to get cabs home because of all the fun and shots of pool we have taken (try to figure out what that means Mr. Johnson!).

Pumped to see everyone so soon.)

Captain Pastey (worst name ever)

Tuesday, April 12th

An astounding showing in our first match out there gang!

I'm Kick James 9 (or 11), Das Boot 4

Tied for first place in the league.

I wish I would have kept stats or recorded the play by play, but I'll just have to try to remember for the sake of those whom could not be with us.

MVP goes to Casey. Not only was Casey our fearless pitcher (rolling three scoreless innings), but she also had two hits, pulled a muscle, and fell down while running to second base for absolutely no reason. She somehow recovered from her fall, after rolling around for at least 30 seconds, and still made it to second base safely.

Runner up would have to be Mark who managed to catch everything that came near him in the outfield amidst 140 knot wind.

Francisco was an excellent umpire.

Other highlights were Brian winning the first shotgun challenge of the season.

Jesse humping a tree, bunting the ball, being made fun of for being a little girl who is bad at kickball and then trying to kill the other teams captain with a line drive down third.

Phil really tried to get a team cheer going a few times by screaming out "I'm Kick James," but just ended up sounding like an idiot or someone with turrets when no one on the team responded back to him.

Kyle was super pissed about something or was trying to confuse the infield when he kicked his shoe at the shortstop. He still made it to first, and no one was injured.

Rather than simply touching first base on an easy out, Brian Loughner chose to take three steps toward the very nice, though overweight woman walking her quickest to first base to throw the ball at her and get her out. I am guessing, though I can not confirm this, that he followed that action up with maniacal laughter and punching children.

For next game, we need:
Music.
Team stretching/warming up.
More hugging.
Talk about the beer/drinking situation.
Pretzels.
To call each other by our nicknames.
To shun those without nicknames.
To fight the power.
To damn the man.
To save the Empire.

This is going to be a fantastic season.
